Stone Cutting Workshop
In conjunction with the Year of Louis XI and the theme of architecture highlighted by the Château de Langeais, this workshop offers visitors the chance to discover the craft of stone cutting. The instructor shares his knowledge and know-how and then invites the participants to practice stone cutting themselves.

Castle Life – Civil and military life under Louis XI
Culverin-shooting demonstrations and sword-fight training are the occasions to discover military life during that period. Civil life is also evoked, such as the organization of daily life in castles. In the shoes of a prince or a princess
Children aged 7 to 12 years can discover the inside-outs of fashion in the Middle Ages thanks to a fun and participatory activity (in French).

Falconry show
This show brings back to life the centuries old art of falconry. Following the demonstration, visitors have the chance to talk with the falconer and even meet those fascinating birds (length:30 min) (in French).

The school of knights
Becoming a valiant knight ? It’s possible thanks to this fun and interactive animation. After a short history of chivalry, the children take part in a melee, and then the two most valiant among them compete in a joust (length:30 min) (in French).

Raising of the drawbridge

Christmas of lights
The magic of Christmas enters the castle in a flourish of lights and with magical and amazing staging and scenery highlighted by magnificent vegetal structures. The big Christmas tree takes pride of place in the banquet hall where the lord’s table shines with lights and colours.
