Halloween Half-Term

The Mysteries of the Spider King

October 17 to November 8

For a family Halloween filled with riddles and legends, embark on a thrilling adventure at Langeais Castle!

Le dernier remède - parcours à énigmes de la Toussaint

Do you know the darkest legends surrounding King Louis XI? During the Halloween holidays, the royal Château de Langeais invites you to step into a world where History meets mystery.

Once you have crossed the drawbridge, let yourself be guided into the secrets of the royal court. Room after room, the autumnal decorations come to life: vibrant foliage, forgotten remedies, mysterious apothecary cabinets and intriguing objects create an immersive setting inspired by the legends surrounding Louis XI and his henchman Olivier le Daim, nicknamed “The Wicked One”. Lights, vegetation, natural materials and soundscapes transform the castle into a place that is both fascinating and unsettling… enough to send shivers down the spines of young and old alike.

For families, a riddle trail will lead you in search of The Last Remedy, the antidote that will free Louis XI from the influence of “The Wicked One”. Three difficulty levels are available, so everyone can experience the adventure at their own pace. (available in french only)
